Trip to Murrysville PA

It was time again for our annual migration north to the Whitehead family reunion held at my Grandparents home and land in Pennsylvania.
There was plenty of fish to be caught. All of the girls got at least 1 bass and many, many blue gill. Beth and I both caught fish with just a plain old hook in the water with no bait. Now there's a stupid fish.
Bubba enjoyed the fun and was just plain cute all weekend.

We had lots of fun activities to choose from in PA. Beth tried to relocate some of the great ferns to her house in NC. Matt made some home-made rootbeer. Sydney tried out the Ladder-ball with my Uncle Steve. Beth enjoyed the pie!

This is why I love what my Aunt Barbara likes to call "Camp Roundtop". Thank you to my wonderful Grandparents for working so hard to make it a beautiful place to bring my family.

The Fourth

The 4th of July in PA is probably my favorite Holiday. What could be better than family, food and fireworks!

River Trip on the Yough

We took most of the kids and Papa for a "Duckie" trip down the Yougheghany River in Southern Pennsylvania. Although the day started out cold and cloudy it turned out to be a beautiful day and even Gabby had a good time.

We are finally on the river and the sun came out. It was a lot of fun. Thanks to Uncle Mike and his water guns for some COLD water good times.

The Final Bon-Fire

We always seem to end our trip with a Bon-Fire of some kind. Barbara and Papa cleared the fire-pit and Matt set the flame a roaring.

Final Washington DC

After the White House, things started to fall apart. Everyone was really tired. 2 of the kids needed a bathroom. We headed for the Metro Station. At our first train change we experienced a delightful 1 hour delay in a muggy, overcrowded, underground metro station. 2 kids still need a bathroom. 8 stopps later we are finally in Maryland again waiting for shuttle
And waiting . . . .
And waiting. After another 1 hour wait we are finally on our way to the hotel. A bathroom and dinner at 9:30. I think it will be a while before we visit DC again.

Washington DC 3

Gabby fell asleep and poor Matt had to log around a 35 lb. 3 year old for about an hour. Why didn't we bring a stroller!?
