Corolla, NC

We spent the last week at Corolla Beach, North Carolina. It was a wonderful vacation, a beautiful beach and perfect company. We were the guest of my sister Beth and her family. We got a lot of wave and rays and came home content and sun-tanned.

Best Buddies

I am so glad that our Sydney has a best friend that is her cousin. They were born a month apart and just can't seem to get enough of each other. We are still trying to talk Katie and Gabby into the same kind of friendship.

Crazy girls

What a crazy bunch of girls we have.

Sunset

Dusk at the beach is my favorite time of the day. The hot sun goes down the breeze blows and the little kids fall asleep.

The Pool.

The pool is always a big part of the beach trip. It is not like we don't have a pool at home. Those kids could and did stay in the pool all day.

Pontoon on the Sound

We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of hours on the Sound. Of course everyone had to have a turn driving. Matt and the girls even got and and swam. Yuck!

Last Night at the Beach

On our last night in Corolla we took one last walk on the beach. The tide was extra high from the storm surge of Hurricane Bill. The air was full of salt mist. Every wave sent us rushing to the sand dunes away from the stray jelly-fish. We really did have a wonderful time. Thanks to the Burbridge family for inviting us.

Summer is Over :(

I tried to each girl out on our own at least once this summer. I will miss the extra time I got to spend with my girls this summer. They are growing up so fast. Kaylee only has one more until High School. Sydney and I had a great time bowling. She almost beat her mommy.Posted by Picasa

Hair Donation

Kamryn decided to donate her tresses to Locks of Love. My salon, Carmen & Carmen, offered a free haircut with the donation of 10 inches of hair. I think I had a harder time letting go of her long hair than she did. The new do turned out great! Now I can't picture her any other way.

The Beach!

I can hardly wait to leave for a week at the beach. This year we are headed for Duck, NC on the Outer Banks. I am looking forward to a week of family, relaxation and fun. The kids have promised to be on their best behavior (we'll just see). When we get back it will be off to school with them. I hope they have enjoyed their summer. They are all growing up way to fast. I will certainly miss them while they are at school. The beach is always a great way to end a great summer.
