This is Matt's favorite part of Halloween. When the girls come back from trick-or-treating and share their candy with him. They are happy to share all the candy with peanuts. Luckily that is just what he is looking for.

Leave it to Matt to use a power tool on a pumpkin! I don't know why he thought that would be easier. My favorite pumpkin is the kiki pumpkin he created for Gabby. I thought the pacifier was cute. She wasn't happy about sharing it with her pumpkin though. Kamryn got her glasses today. I think she looks cute but way to old for my baby. She thinks she looks fabulous of course. The older the better. Kaylee took on the job of separating out the seeds and roasting them for us. Way to go Kaylee. That is my least favorite part of the pumpkin experience. I will take pictures of the completed jack o'lanterns when we light them up on Friday night.

Picture day!! Just in case the school picture didn't come out I took a couple of photos of my 2 pretty Elementary school girls. I hope they appreciate how much time it takes to do 4 girls hair in the morning.

I went away for the weekend and came back to Fall. The kids had a day off school and we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a walk. I have to admit that Autumn is my favorite season. The colors the cool weather just make me happy.

There was an incredible suspension bridge. Since, I am not found of bridges I chose to take a picture of it rather than actually traveling over it. Apparently Beth has a list of places she will use the bathroom. A museum happened to be on this list so we visited 2 museums for the sole purpose of using their facilities.

Charleston is a really beautiful city. The building are painted festive bright colors. Everything we did was in walking distance. There was a really gross light pole totally covered in gum. Yuck!! Beth enjoyed showing off her purchases in our hotel.

Mom, Jen, Beth and I went to Charleston this past weekend for a historical house tour. We spent all day Saturday shopping at the city market and at all the local stores. We then went on a candlelight tour of some Pre-Civil War homes. We had a great weekend. Shopping, looking at houses, eating out, no kids!!! We really wanted to buy some of the hand made local baskets. We were surprised to find that a medium sized basket was $200!! Needless to say we did not bring home any baskets.

Sydney finally decided it was time to learn to ride a 2 wheeler. After I did the back breaking work of running with her and holding onto the bike she decided she could do it all by herself when Dad volunteers to help. She caught on right away and is really proud of herself. We are proud of you too, Sydney Bean!!!!

I just wanted to share my appreciation for just how beautiful North Carolina is. These are pictures of the American Tobacco trail that runs behind my neighborhood. The neighborhood has a bridge that connects directly to the trail. Anytime I want to I can take the dog for a run or a walk with the kids. Gabby loves to collect flowers from along the trail. There is a stream that runs under the trail at one point and there is a bridge where you can see and hear the stream go by. Maggie loves to dart on and off the trail chasing squirrels and the occasional deer. It really isn't that unusual to see some deer along the trail when you don't have the noisey dog with you. This time of year is so nice to spend outside. The temperature is perfect and the leaves are just starting to change. North Carolina is certainly a beautiful place to live.

I decided to spotlight a different child every month. This month will be Gabby. Please click on the family picture to the right and you can watch a slide show presentation of our little Gabby.

Gabby is our youngest daughter. She is the definition of the "baby" of the family. We are all guilty of spoiling her. She knows she can get just about anything she wants if she yells loud enough. She is a funny little cookie. Everyday she seems to say something new. Recently, she has decided to be in love with pirates and says, "ARRR, Matie." Although most of the time she is loud and crazy, she really is a sweetie. She will climb up in your lap and plant a kiss on you cheek and give you a hug. Gabby loves to play in the bathtub. She says she is swimming. She loves to line up her cars on the treadmill and give them a ride. She loves to pull all of the books out of her sister's bookcase and look at them all morning.

We all love our Gabby and can't wait to see what each new day with her brings.

Gabby couldn't wait to try on her Halloween costume. If you can't tell, she's a pirate. She can even say ARRR MATIE. She just needs an eye patch. This year we have a pirate, a renaissance girl, a Japanese girl and a Snow Princess. I am sure there are more pictures to come. Sydney wanted to know if she could wear her costume to church. I should have said yes just to see the faces of the people in our ward.
